ABOUT ASSOCIATION
Association ‘Mākslas platforma’ was founded on 11 February 2015 to facilitate providing beneficial conditions for the development of contemporary visual arts and other areas of culture in Latvia, encouraging the processes of cultural life in Latvian society.
As part of this objective, the association aims to study and evaluate the processes of contemporary art and culture and promote an exchange of information, placing the current Latvian cultural affairs in the European and global context.
To achieve its goals, the association mounts priority activities like exhibitions, contests, festivals, educational events, issues publications, supports information exchange platforms (websites, publication series, etc.), helps connect artists with patrons and attract sponsors for projects of contemporary art and culture.
The founding members of the association are Arturs Jakovļevs, Una Meistere and Ģirts Muižnieks.
